Joystiq are asking: what do you think of traditional game reviews? I think they suck. They try to be objective with all their star ratings and the such like. We don’t give books ‘star’ or ‘percentage’ ratings that we pull out of our arses. We critically engage. We should do the same with games.

The Guardian are reporting that the “right to know” case was lost by the parents. This is a good thing. I think that doctor-patient privilege shouldn’t extend to parents if the child has sought out medical advice on their own. If they are mature enough to seek medical advice, they are mature enough not to have their parent’s poking their nose through their business.

David Galbraith: “Non outline style blogging leads to the type of writing where you feel compelled to make every post a mini essay. This is bad for both writers and readers - since most people don’t want to read essays about everything and most bloggers don’t really want to write essays about everything.”
