Tobacco company Phillip Morris is negotiating a research contract with Virginia Commonwealth University that would not allow it to publish negative research about the company or it’s products. Look forward to new reports from the university entitled things like “Why Smoking Is Good For You: An Interview With Troy McClure”. Fortunately, philosophers don’t often get bribed by large corporate interests, although they do sometimes become apologists for the Catholic Church and other political parties.
