If you want to go to Le Web ‘08 this year, you can use this discount registration link to get 20% off. The current standard ticket is 1,196 euros with the discount. After the 20th of November, the ticket price increases to 1,435.20 with discount.
There’s a fringe event for those who cannot afford a ticket for Le Web, called Web08 OFF. They have a group on Facebook and a blog (both mostly in French). I wonder if they are planning for it to be mainly in French or whether there will be English attendees also. I’m also not totally sure whether they are planning to have a formal schedule or more of a BarCamp-style event. There has been a suggestion in the Facebook group of having retransmitted video from the main event.
Molly Holzschlag: Today is one of the most emotional days I have ever had as a citizen of the United States. The alternative, as I see it, will simply reveal that my beloved country is not a democracy.
