A pungent mix of programming, philosophy, pedanticism, procrastination, perplexity, peripheral political polemic, and platters of preposterousness.

Last night I found a neat little hack for permalinks in WordPress - which only takes one second, and makes all your old posts accessible to both visitors and Google. Permalinks are a fine idea, except for the fact that whenever you change blog software, they break. But I had to change. GLUE, though good software, was unsustainable because of the TrackBack spam. Moveable Type 2 had the same problem (I speak from experience of clearing 20,000 spam comments and trackback pings from an unmaintained MT install).
