Tom Morris

A pungent mix of programming, philosophy, pedanticism, procrastination, perplexity, peripheral political polemic, and platters of preposterousness.

RSSor is a good idea, but not well-implemented. It doesn’t do ‘river of news’. This is a downer. I have yet to find a web-based aggregator that doesn’t suck and isn’t Bloglines (and I’m not wonderfully fond of Bloglines!). Within the del.icio.us design, the settings link doesn’t work. To be honest, I can’t see the point of this. There’s no determination of whether or not you’ve read something or not. There’s no way of importing your feeds from an OPML file. It seems lightweight, and probably wouldn’t be able to cope with my 300 feeds. It would be better if the links to del.icio.us, Furl etc. were modules (in fact some uniform, simple standard where your posting rights are centrally located, so that you simply punch in your email address and it automatically sets up all your posting abilities on another site would be useful) rather than links to services I don’t use. All in all, a disappointment.
